Be a research assistant in the Hinojosa Lab!

We are currently recruiting undergraduate students interested in gaining research experience working with clinical samples (individuals with PTSD and AUD). Gaining lab experience as an undergraduate is integral if you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree in psychology in the future.
Research assistants working in the Hinojosa Lab will be given the opportunities that make them stand out to potential graduate programs. These include exposure to working with clinical samples, an introduction to statistical analysis, the development of critical thinking skills, and experience in assessing and developing scientific research questions.
In our lab, the typical duties of a research assistant include administering participant questionnaires, calling/recruiting participants, screening participants' eligibility for studies, running participants through study procedures, and potentially helping graduate students with writing scientific papers.
Additionally, UNM students can gain up to 3 hours of academic credit per semester by enrolling in PSY499. Each credit hour corresponds to approximately 3 hours of work in the lab.
We require a 2 semester time commitment and encourage students to apply as soon as possible, certainly before their senior year.
